Sheri Trepina - Collage Watercolorist

Sheri Trepina comes from a family of artists who nurtured her love of color and art.  The beauty of the family farm, at the base of the Cascade Mountains and the lush land and seascape of her part-time home in Hawaii, influenced her love of color, texture and design. Being mindful of the landscape of her youth played a key role in the development of her art career.

Elements in nature are the theme for Sheri’s textural collage art. She pulls inspiration from the landscape, collecting local leaves and grasses which she uses to create preliminary marks on to watercolor paper.   The technique of Collage is her preferred method. Sheri works to achieve rich textures and line thru the layering of delicate papers and watercolor. The movement of paint and water against these layers is exhilarating to Sheri, and gives her work an abstract quality. Sheri’s work is nationally recognized, she has taught workshops and has been written up in national magazines, one of which mentions her show at Two Rivers Gallery.
